Reflectance- and Radiance-Based Methods for the In.Flight Absolute Calibration of Multispectral Sensors

چکیده
Variations reported in the in-tlight absolute radiometric calibration of the Coastal Zone Color Scanner (CZCS) and the Thematic Mapper (TM) on Landsat 4 are reviewed. At short wavelengths these sensors exhibited a gradual reduction in response, while in the midinfrared the TM showed oscillatory variations, according to the results of TM internal calibration. The methodology and results are presented for five reflectance-based calibrations of the Landsat 5 TM at White Sands, NM, in the period July 1984 to November 1985. These show a +_2.8% standard deviation (1 o) for the six solar-reflective bands. Analysis and preliminary results of a second, independent calibration method based on radiance measurements from a helicopter at White Sands indicate that this is potentially an accurate method for corroborating the results from the reflectance-based method.

Radiometric Cross Calibration of Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) and Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+)
This study evaluates the radiometric consistency between Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) and Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) using cross calibration techniques. Two approaches are used, one based on cross calibration between the two sensors using simultaneous image pairs, acquired during an underfly event on 29–30 March 2013. The other approach is based on using time seri...
متن کاملGround-look Radiometric Calibration Approaches for Remote Sensing Imagers in the Solar Reflective
Since the early 1990s, the availability of remote sensing imagery in the solar reflective (400 to 2500 nm) has seen a dramatic increase. Airborneand satellite-based sensors now cover this spectral range with a variety of spectral resolutions (from the multispectral to hyperspectral) and spatial resolutions ranging from better than 0.3 m for some airborne systems (and better than 1 m for satelli...

[1] The Mars Exploration Rover Panoramic Camera (MER/Pancam) instruments have acquired more than 60,000 high-resolution, multispectral, stereoscopic images of soil, rocks, and sky at the Gusev crater and Meridiani Planum landing sites since January 2004. These images, combined with other MER data sets, have enabled new discoveries about the composition, mineralogy, and geologic/geochemical evol...
متن کاملValidation of the Calibration Coefficient of the GaoFen-1 PMS Sensor Using the Landsat 8 OLI
The panchromatic and multispectral (PMS) sensor is an optical imaging sensor aboard the Gao Fen-1 (GF-1) satellite. This work describes an approach to validate the calibration coefficients of the PMS sensors based on the image data of the Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI). Two image pairs, one obtained over the Dunhuang test site and the other over the Golmud test site, were used in this ...
